Hello and welcome to planDisney, Lawrence!
Lawrence, as a
Disney Vacation Club Member I love trying out all of the different Disney Vacation Club Resorts, but there is a special place in my heart for
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. One of my fondest Walt Disney World memories is watching my grandmother enjoy breakfast with my kids at 'Ohana and cherish those family pictures with Mickey in his Hawaiian attire, so I appreciate your question!
Lawrence, you are correct that beginning in October
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort will undergo a refurbishment that will affect the Great Ceremonial House and monorail transportation. While the work is ongoing, the monorail to and from Disney's Polynesian Village Resort will be unavailable. However, I'm happy to report that other ammenities at the resort will still be open. Hungry for that famous Tonga Toast? Not to worry!
Capt. Cooks and
Kona Cafe will still be available. You can also grab some refreshments at
Pineapple Lanai,
Tambu Lounge and the
Barefoot Pool Bar!
Ready to cool off or make a big splash? You will find pools open and welcoming guests. And while the Great Ceremonial House will be "under construction,"
Moana Mercantile will still be available for shopping... my favorite form of exercise!
Lawrence, I hope this helps as you are looking ahead to your April vacation. Please come on back and see us here at planDisney with any other questions you might have.
Wishing you a pixie dusted stay. Aloha!
Lauren
