Jennifer from FL Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

We are booked at the poly new tower for May. I understand the cancel policy is 8 days before check in. But what if something happens after that, would we still lose our deposit if we reschedule and not cancel and how close to check in day could we do that?

Hello, Jennifer! Welcome to planDisney. Thank you so much for stopping by with such a good question!

You are more than welcome to reschedule your Walt Disney World Resort vacation package in the event of an unexpected situation, and I am happy to say that you will not lose your deposit. In fact, since you're simply rescheduling, that same deposit would simply go towards your new vacation package dates. However, if you do end up rescheduling your vacation package 30 days or less before your original check-in day, you will also be subject to a $50 change fee (prices are always subject to change).

Since your current check-in day is May 19, my advice would be to finalize all your travel plans by April 18. If you need to reschedule, you'll be able to do it without penalty as long as you do it by then. Otherwise, you will need to pay for that $50 change fee. You still have a couple of weeks to think about whether or not May is a good month for you, so that's great! If it isn't, I'm sure you'll find the perfect time to visit the Most Magical Place on Earth in the near future.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach back out to us. We're always available and more than happy to help here at planDisney! Have a magical day!

    Warm hugs,
