Booked POFQ. Stayed at POR (in Jan) & CBR x2 before. Heard mixed reviews on POFQ food and pool. 1YO & 4YO. Will we enjoy it as much as POR? Is it easy to get to POR for dinner or pool? Not sure if we should change to another moderate, but wanted st

    Hi Lisa!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel!

A lot of guests really enjoy Port Orleans French Quarter.  It is the smallest of the Disney Moderate Resorts, making it very easy to get around.  The pool is relatively small with a small water slide that doesn't allow swimmers to slide very fast, but it should be fine for very young children.  The pool area itself is nicely decorated; it's just not that exciting for older children.

It's about a 15 minute walk from Port Orleans French Quarter to Port Orleans Riverside depending on exactly where you started from in French Quarter and where you are trying to get to in Riverside.  There is also a boat that runs between the two (it is really the boat that eventually goes to Downtown Disney) if you don't want to walk.  You can use the food court, Table Service, and pool at Riverside since you are staying at French Quarter.

If it was me personally, I wouldn't switch just because of the pool.  If I wanted to have a large food court at the resort or a Table Service restaurant then I might switch.  The food court at French Quarter is rather small in my opinion.  However, as I said, Port Orleans French Quarter is a fan favorite so the answer to your question is really guest dependent.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
