Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Alison! Off-the-beaten-path tours and events have become some of my favorite things to do while visiting Walt Disney World Resort! My mom and I experienced the Wild Africa Trek and the Behind the Seeds Tour in January and we loved every minute!
As you may already know, the “
A Path Less Traveled” Tour is a celebration of
Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s 20th birthday and offers a myriad of wild activities, like a backstage visit to Rafiki's Planet Watch, an unforgettable elephant encounter and a VIP viewing of Rivers of Light among other itinerary items. The tour can last 8-12 hours over the course of the day with included snack breaks as well as a lunch break on your own. I’ve spoken to a Cast Member in the Events and Tours department, and they told me since the activity list and times for the tour are constantly in flux, you will be guaranteed a lunch break, but it is unknown when and where that will be. Both they and I recommend you save your Table Service reservation for another day and instead, opt for a Quick Service location in the park since they are also unsure of your location at lunchtime. I would hate for you to make a Table Service reservation and end up paying the late cancellation fee if you aren’t able to make it in time. If you are a Disney Dining Plan user, remember you can “step down” your table service credit into a Quick Service Credit. Just ask for assistance from your Quick Service location Cast Member and you’ll be set.
I hope you have an exceptional time on your Path Tour, and if I can help you with another day of your vacation, please let me know. You’ve got a friend in me! ~ Lindsey P.
