Hi Adele,
Welcome to planDisney! I am so excited to hEAR that you are planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort! If you have booked a vacation package with a resort hotel and theme park tickets through the Walt Disney World Resort, you should be able to modify or cancel that package up to 30 days prior to arrival. Check the emailed confirmation that you received to see the specific terms and conditions.
With the most recent vacation package I booked, the terms and conditions were at the end of the email. I can receive a refund of my deposit minus any amounts owed to third-party vendors,
runDisney race registrations, and non-refundable travel protection plan expenses as long as I cancel 30 days or more prior to my arrival date. If you booked through another agency or website, there may be other fees that you would incur if you were to modify or cancel.
If you were to purchase
theme park tickets separate from a vacation package, note that tickets are non-refundable. I have been able to reassign unused tickets to another family member or friend, so if one friend does not go, you may be able to find another who could use the tickets. Since it sounds like you have a few friends traveling with you, I do suggest that you all have
My Disney Experience accounts and that you connect through the
My Family & Friends List.
Looking at your arrival date, I am so happy to see that you will be there to experience the
Holidays at Walt Disney World Resort. It's a beautiful time of year to visit. We always make several
advanced dining reservations at restaurants in different resort hotels so that we can see the holiday decorations. This past December we stayed at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and it was simply gorgeous. We loved being able to take the walking path to Magic Kingdom. The other happy news is that you will also experience
The World's Most Magical Celebration as the Walt Disney World Resort celebrates its 50th anniversary!
Adele, keep those plans going! Follow the
operational updates to stay up-to-date with changes to theme park experiences and dining availability!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
