Hello! Booked Palo for brunch and dinner. Is gratuity included in the 25.00 per person surcharge or is it extra? If extra, how much and should we have cash on hand to pay? Thanks.

    Hi Linda!

Thanks so much for visiting the Moms Panel and logging in a question. Palo is hands down my most favorite restaurant on the Disney Cruise! My husband and I never miss out on dining at least once at Palo whenever we cruise with Disney. Brunch and dinner are both gastronomical experiences! Make sure you take your time and have your palette enjoy the burst of flavors from the beautifully prepared entrees. Everything is freshly created by the chefs, and they use only the best ingredients. Do leave space for the chocolate soufflé! It's one of those desserts that you may end up dreaming of, once you're back home. :-)

Don't even bother eating anything before you have Brunch at Palo. The parade of exquisitely arranged seafood, cheese platters, specialty breads & pizzas and the prettiest array of desserts is a true feast -- fit for royalty! It is amazing how they even bring onboard specialty food items from the region that they sail in. The food is spectacular, and better yet, the excellent service from the Palo crew may put a lot of other fine dining establishments to shame.  The service is simply impeccable!

The $25 per person fee does not include gratuity. My husband and I have always used $10-$15 per person as a gratuity standard for a meal at a fine dining restaurant (around $20-$30 per couple). But, the tip amount for your servers, is entirely up to you. You can bring cash, or you can add the additional gratuity to your bill and it will be billed to your stateroom. I'm sure you'll notice how genuinely attentive and knowledgeable your servers will be, and they will be happy to have met you. It is a great satisfaction to them that their guests had a wonderful experience, and the additional gratuity is an appreciation for the excellent service.

I hope this helps! Do let us know if you have additional questions we can help with.

    Have a magical cruise!
