    We have booked and paid for the dining plan but when I wanted to book some meal reservations I was told I needed a credit card to make the booking, in previous years that did not apply,  is this something new?

    Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

    A credit card 'guarantee' policy has been in effect with Disney Dining for several years now. 
    Even when using a Disney Dining Plan for your meals, certain, popular Disney Dining locations require a Credit Card on file as a 'guarantee' on your reservation. This only applies to package reservations such as the Fantasmic! Meal Packages, Character Dining, Signature Dining, Dinner Shows and a select few other 'high demand' dining locations. Your credit card will not be charged up front, however you will be charged a fee per person if you are a 'no show' for one of these dining locations if you did not cancel your reservation in time. When making each reservations, the terms and conditions will be discussed with you by the Cast Member making your reservation, or, you will agree to the Terms & Conditions online prior to receiving your confirmation. These policies are in effect such that guests who change their plans will give sufficient notice and another guest will be able to secure the cancelled reservation.

    Certain pre-paid dining locations requiring up-front credit card payment (dinner shows and Cinderella's Royal Table) should be reserved by calling Disney Dining directly at (407) WDW-DINE to ensure that your Disney Dining Plan is correctly associated with the reservation and your card will therefore not be charged. *your card will still be kept on file as a guarantee and cancellation policies do apply
