I booked a package at old key west with 6 guests on 1/2-1/7. We got park tickets and meal plan. Would it be possible to add a Disney hotel room for extra space? I’m having a lot of trouble getting volunteers for the common area beds.

    Hiya Michel,

Welcome to planDisney! It sounds like you are gearing up for an incredible, magical vacation! We just returned from a vacation that included 4 adults and 2 little Mouseketeers, and I completely understand the extra space needed. My two little ones have a lot of things, and it is definitely nice to feel like you have a little privacy as an adult.

Michel, I’m not sure about Old Key West Resort’s availability for your travel dates, but my best recommendation is to reach out to a Cast Member in Tickets and Hotel Reservations. They would be able to help you find accommodations, if available, that would be a good fit for your group. This may look like making a reservation for an additional room or moving from a one-bedroom to a two-bedroom. Speaking of a bedroom, do you already have one reserved? If so, I recently learned about a type of booking called the two-bedroom lock-offs (a room that is a one-bedroom and deluxe studio connected by an adjoining room door). Based on a video walkthrough I looked at, this type of room might provide the additional privacy your Guests want while also allowing you all to stay together. Again, I’m not certain of Old Key West Resort’s availability but Cast Members should be able to provide you with more insight.

I know this wasn’t exactly what you were asking for, Michel, but I hope it was still helpful. Before I let you go, I wanted to let you know that if having two separate rooms is most important to you, Cast Members may need to suggest a different resort if that cannot be accommodated at Old Key West. As magical as all of the resort hotels are, I still have my favorite one. I was once given the option to stay in the studio room at my favorite resort or in a one-bedroom at another resort, since a one-bedroom wasn’t available there (I declined because I wanted to stay at my favorite resort, but I also was okay with sacrificing the extra space). This can happen, so I wanted to make sure you are aware. If you just like Old Key West Resort because of its relaxed vibe but are still open to switching, I think you would really like Saratoga Springs Resort (if available). They have a similar atmosphere, and Saratoga Springs is really beautiful. If there is anything else you need, please let us know.

    Happy Planning,
