Hi Derren! Welcome to planDisney! It sounds like you’re planning on spending one of the final days of 2024 at Magic Kingdom Park!
The days between Christmas and New Year’s Day are some of the most popular of the year to visit Magic Kingdom Park. The Disney Parks can reach capacity, and when they do Guests can be denied re-entry into the theme park, even if admitted to the park earlier in the day.
To avoid being denied entry into the theme park, you might consider spending your day at the park. Once you’re in, you’re in! In addition to great Disney attractions, I recommend planning some Disney Dining experiences – table or quick service. These will allow you the opportunity to “refuel” with some food and drinks, while also getting off your feet for a bit.
I also recommend enjoying attractions that allow you to sit for a little while. These attractions include
Mickey’s PhilharMagic, the
Hall of Presidents, the
Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover,
Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, and
“it’s a small world.” Get the best of both worlds – being entertained by great Disney attractions, while also being off your feet for a longer time.
Derren, if it helps, I’ve been monitoring the Disney Parks for the past few days for park closures due to capacity. As of now, the parks haven’t reached capacity over the past few days. That’s a good sign! If this trend continues for the next few days, you might be in the clear to enter, leave, and then re-enter the same park later in the evening. I think this is a safer bet to do so on December 30th than on December 31st. Also, keep in mind if a park reaches capacity, it could just mean a temporary "capacity" and additional Guests will be admitted later in the evening after other Guests leave the park.
Dreams do come true!
