sun-sational "seaside" stay!
Having just returned from a summer stay at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, I can tell you that pool time was absolutely
crucial for my family. After all, there's nothing like a midday dip to keep you cool and recharged in the heat! Since you're arriving in August, I'm happy to see that you'll be taking advantage of the pool at your resort. With its sandy beach and swashbuckling waterslide,
Stormalong Bay is the perfect place to spend a non-park day!
Christopher, I have to admit I'm a little jealous that you snagged a cabana during your stay. While a
cabana rental is still on my personal Disney World bucket list, I was able to dig up some information I think you may find helpful.
First of all, you're right that the cabanas can only hold up to 6 people at a time. However, I confirmed with a Disney Cast Member that this number only applies to
simultaneous occupancy. This means that everyone in your party can have a turn to live in the lap of luxury! Just be aware that the cabana will only come stocked with amenities for 6 people (this includes towels, snacks, and beverages).
One last thing before I go: your visit falls right on the tail end of
Cool KIDS' SUMMER! This means you'll get
free water park admission on your check-in day, along with access to some fun summertime offerings in the parks. My family especially loved the new
Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! show at Disney's Hollywood Studios and GoofyCore at EPCOT. If you're traveling with older kids, be sure to check out
Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run. My daughter and I loved piloting in this new mission with Grogu and Din Djarin. Yes, we crashed in the end, but we sure had fun in the process!
