I booked an off site resort for our trip to Disney but I'm now second guessing myself since I think my kids will enjoy being on a Disney resort. Do the value resorts have mini refrigerators?

    Hi, NaaDede,

I have to say, there is just something so magical about staying at a Walt Disney World resort.  My family fondly refers to it as "being in the bubble" once we enter WDW property!  All your cares just seem so vanish.  It is so nice to have Magical Express take you from the airport to your resort, then having Disney Transportation available to you for free to get you to theme parks, water parks, Downtown Disney, and more. And all that transportation is included!   With resorts in every price range, I think you will find staying on property to be a great value.  I suggest you look at Pop Century. We often stay here in a Standard Room.  Wonderful value, great resort, and you cannot beat the price.

That said, there are some lovely hotels off property.  I suggest double checking on any additional costs:  daily parking, resort fees, costs to use their bus systems, etc.  These "extras" can sometimes really add up.

Normally, all resort rooms on WDW property have at least a mini-refrigerator to keep beverages cool.  However, all the refrigerators are currently being swapped out for new ones.  No date has been set as to when they will all be back in place.  However, if you are traveling soon, contact your resort if you have a medical need and see what they can do to accommodate you.  If you vacation is not for a while yet, the fridge-situation may all be resolved by then.

Good luck deciding!  Let me know if I can help you choose a resort that suits your family's needs.  Have fun!
