We booked a night for my son and his bride to be at Vero Beach. Can you arrive before check in and have your bags held? Would you be able to use the pool and beach, etc before check in?

Hi there Barbara, welcome to planDisney!

It's always a great day when I can chat with a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member about either the two Disney Vacation Club Beach Resort destinations

Ah, Disney's Vero Beach Resort; I just love the laid-back feeling at this elegant resort. It's perfect for relaxing and enjoying Florida's scenic Atlantic Treasure Coast and what better way to experience it than with a loved one! Your son and future daughter-in-law are going to love swimming in the Mickey-shaped pool, hanging out on the beautiful beach and maybe they will even be lucky enough to see a sea turtle heading back to the ocean after nesting.

Great news, Barbara, Guests at Disney's Vero Beach Resort can arrive before check-in time and leave their bags with Bell Services so they may begin enjoying the resort's amenities right away. I spoke with a resort Cast Member who shared that even while bags are with Bell Services, Guests have access to their luggage any time they would like. The pool doesn't open until 8:00 AM so the resort is pretty quiet until then but if they arrive earlier, they can always head to the beach and put their toes in the Atlantic Ocean. To access the beach, they will need either a MagicBand or MagicBand+ (this also works as a room key) since the beach has locked access. If they do not have a MagicBand, they can use their Key to the World card which is also their room key.

Guests who wish to learn more about the turtles can partake in my favorite sand activity and head to the beach at 7:00 AM every morning. They can meet Cast Members of the Disney Conservation Team Wildlife and walk alongside the team while they look for turtle nests as a part of turtle conservation. Vero Beach is the nesting ground for Loggerhead, Green, and Leatherback turtles. The Cast Members are more than happy to answer all questions about turtles and their nesting season which runs from March until September.

Disney's Vero Beach resort has plenty of adult activities such as the daily Mixology classes in the Green Cabin Room featuring rum, tequila, bourbon and wine (changes daily). The Green Cabin Room is also where Guests should head if looking to play Trivia games, Name that Tune and Majority Rules - it's guaranteed they will have a great time! If open air is what Guests are looking for, there is a Campfire and singalong (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:30 PM) and there are movies on the Green (Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays - also at 8:30 PM). Other outdoor activities include Port Holes Mini Golf, archery, biking (rentals are available at Eb & Flo's Rentals) or tennis: the list is never-ending!

Barbara, I hope your son and his bride-to-be have a wonderful time enjoying Disney's Vero Beach Resort. It's a favorite place for my family to visit! Thanks for visiting planDisney, if you have any other DVC or vacation planning questions, please let me know
