Booked for next week at Grand California - but rethinking - we love the DLH - and son (2) loves the pool - it is shallow enough for him to splash in - he even loves th H2O slide. What is the pool like at GC? Weighing convenience over pool.

I spent some quality time at pool at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa recently. This is a wonderful place to spend time. My two daughters must have gone on the waterslide 20 times each. Even I took a turn or two. There are a total of four pools at the resort. One is for the little kids and is rather shallow and not very large. The others are larger and a bit deeper and the waterslide is part of one pool also. That being said, I must tell you that the Disneyland Hotel pool and water area is awesome also. They have done a magical job of making the pool area brand new and loads of fun for the little ones. As far as pools go, I would choose the Disneyland Hotel pool for the play area for little ones. As for which is more convenient, Grand Californian is closer to the parks, it even has a direct entrance to Disney California Adventure Park which is so cool. It is also located within Downtown Disney which makes it so easy to see all of the great shopping experiences offered. So, while I am a huge fan of both resorts, I prefer the pool at Disneyland Hotel and the location of Disney Grand Californian Hotel. I hope this helps you decide and I will see you at the parks.
