Being booked in the new Tower at the Polynesian, my main question is can we walk to the Grand Floridian ? Is there any pathway now open? Thank you Sandy

Welcome Home, Sandy! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney. One of the best parts of my day is chatting with fellow Disney Vacation Club Members and helping make their vacations magical. I'm happy to give you the lowdown on the current state around Seven Seas Lagoon!

I have to say, I am so excited about the opening of the new Island Tower at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. The Polynesian is our family's Home Resort, and we've been anxiously awaiting this addition to the DVC family. Starting this very day, sales are now underway for the tower! This will add several different options for accommodations beyond the existing studios and the iconic over-water Bungalows to suit groups of all sizes.

The walking path from the Polynesian to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is one I know well, as I love to head out early for a morning run and end at the Grand Floridian fitness center. The path has been closed on and off throughout the Island Tower construction for safety purposes. As of today, a Cast Member at the Polynesian confirmed that the path is not open. However, I anticipate it will be open to Guests once the tower officially opens - so we'll both need to stay tuned for additional updates as the December opening approaches.

In the meantime, the Monorail station at the Great Ceremonial House is a short walk from Island Tower, ready to whisk you to the Grand Floridian! You can also take water transportation for a relaxed ride and enjoy the views - it's one of my favorite ways to start the day.

Sandy, I hope this information is helpful for your planning purposes! I'm delighted that you'll be among the first Guests to stay at the tower - you'll have to let me know all the details. Thanks again for visiting planDisney, and please don't hesitate to reach out again anytime if we can help with other questions!

    Stay Magical!
