    I have booked the Mama Melrose Fantasmic package, but have heard that the chef chooses the dessert rather than each person making their own selection. Is this the case? Will we get a full sized dessert per party member?

    Hi there Wendy,

    The Fantasmic Dining Package offers guests the special opportunity to dine in a Hollywood Studios restaurant prior to experiencing the thrills of Fantasmic from the special reserved viewing area.

    My husband is Italian and we LOVE Mama Melrose.  In accordance with the Fantasmic Dining Package you will be entitled to make selections from a Prix-Fixe Menu and each member of your dining party will receive a non-alcohoic beverage, an appetizer, and an entree.  

    You are correct about the desserts though.  The format was recently changed, and now each table will be served a pre-selected "Desert Sampler" and the size is based upon the number of guests in your party.  On our recent visit with 5 guests, we received 4 desserts to share.

    I am not pleased with this change, as a am a HUGE fan of desserts.  We ordered a few off of the menu in addition to the "sampler" so we were able to satisfactorily fill our sweet-tooth cravings prior to watching Fantasmic.  Since we were using the Disney Dining Plan, the cost of adding two desserts from the regular menu was nominal and well worth it! The food at Mama Melrose is great and the portions are substantial!  Even with the dessert issue, you'll still have a fabulous and tasty experience!
