We have booked the Magic Your Way plus Dining for December, 2012. Does anyone recommend upgrading to Deluxe Dinning for this period and if so why. Does the increase cost justify the upgrade.

Hi Susan! It is always a difficult decision about which dining plan to choose when adding that to your package. You didn't mention the age of your children or if you were traveling with children as that can make a difference in your decision.

Adults enjoy dining at many of the great signature restaurants on property and those are the locations that require two credits from your plan. When you are traveling with children the idea of having them sit down for a meal three times each day when the fun in the parks calls is sometimes not worth the effort. Plus there are great quick service locations that are fun to grab a quick lunch or dinner such as Flametree in Animal Kingdom or Casey's in the Magic Kingdom.

The only idea that December would prove to be different is the Candlelight Dinner package they offer for this great event in Epcot. Most of the restaurants offering this would need two credits.  However, this can still be done easily by using a 4pm spot and have what many call "linner".....half way between lunch and dinner.

Really think hard if your family can eat three meals a day to make the cost upgrade worthwhile. I know my own family used the plan several times before we realized we were spending all of our vacation in restaurants eating instead of doing other fun things!
