Ahoy Meghan,
Thank you so much for coming to planDisney with your question. How wonderful to have just booked your sailing with
Disney Cruise Line and to be planning ahead for ways to make it magical for your little one! I am happy to help you start to think about your planning.
There are great itineraries
sailing out of Galveston. I checked, and it looks like you will be heading on a Western Caribbean itinerary. While it is a bit early for those theme nights to be scheduled, I did
call and speak with a Disney Cruise Line cast member about your sailing. Based on past cruises, it looks like you can expect a
formal night and a
Pirate Night on your sailing.
While both of these theme nights are optional, my family loves to dress up for each of them. On formal night, we put on our finest outfits, and enjoy taking advantage of the elegant backdrops that the Disney Cruise Line photographers set up for the evening. On Pirate Night, we don our bandanas and I put on my best pirate skirt. We enjoy the deck party and fireworks at sea - this is a rollicking good night!
Please do note that these evenings are subject to change. I suggest that you call Disney Cruise Line closer to your sailing to confirm them. Once you are on your sailing, the best place for information as to what is happening each day is the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App. This is a one-stop place for all of the information about your itinerary!
Also, do be sure to let cast members know that it is your little one's birthday while on the sailing. While nothing extra is guaranteed, you never know when a little extra pixie dust might come your way!
I hope you have a wonderful time planning for this magical cruise, Meghan! Please feel free to sail on back to planDisney if you have any further questions.
