We booked a last-minute Disneyworld trip. Since it's too late to take advantage of far advance restaurant res. & 1st choice of fast passes, is it worth it to stay in the park? Do the budget hotels still get magic hours? What other perks?

    Hi Robyn,

Any time is a good time to visit Walt Disney World Resort, and a last minute get-away magical vacation sounds exciting and fun.

Extra Magic Hours is a benefit exclusive for guests of select Walt Disney World Resort hotels, where each day one theme park will open longer. Morning Extra Magic Hours are an excellent choice for early risers, and lets you experience a few attractions before off-site guests arrive. Evening Extra Magic Hours are excellent for the night owls. We once stayed up until 3:00 a.m. enjoying Magic Kingdom Park. And our best experience was able to ride Star Tours - The Adventure Continues four times in a row with zero wait. The benefit is not just for Deluxe hotels. Moderate and Value resort hotels guests can take advantage of Extra Magic Hours.

Some restaurants need to be booked 180 days in advance because of their popularity, however, here’s a tip. Some guests change their plans and will cancel reservations 24 to 48 hours in advance, in order to avoid a cancellation fee. The best way to keep checking, is to do so with the My Disney Experience mobile app. You may also call (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463, and definitely stop by and ask the host or hostess at the entrance of the restaurant, to see if they are accepting walk-ins. Earlier in the day, or later in the evening sometimes works. Also, many restaurants are open for lunch and even breakfast, so that’s other ways to enjoy a similar experience.

I hope you already started packing. See you real soon!
