Hi Brian,
Welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you've stopped by with a question about
Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour. This experience had been on my Disney bucket list for quite some time, and I was thrilled to finally check it off recently when my fellow panelist pal, Alison, and I joined the fun! Like you, we booked the 8:00 AM tour, so let’s take a closer look at what you can expect.
First, you'll be glad to know that theme park
parking usually opens around 60-90 minutes before the posted park opening. This gives you plenty of time to park, go through security, and make your way to the gates in time for check-in (about 15 minutes before your tour begins).
Cast Members typically start allowing Guests to scan into the parks around 45 minutes before Early Theme Park Entry for Disney Resort Hotel Guests. Based on your tour date, this will line up nicely with your check-in time. While there isn’t a separate line for Guests with tour reservations, don’t worry - your check-in location is conveniently just inside the gates, at the entrance to Tony’s Town Square Restaurant/Town Square Theatre.
After you’ve checked in, you’ll select your lunch from a menu provided and have a few moments to relax before your Guide gathers the group. You’ll be given a headset to hear all the magical details along the way, and this is also the perfect time to snap a photo with the oversized “Key to the Kingdom” prop.
I had a fantastic time on the tour and learned so much! I am sure you'll walk away with a whole new appreciation for the details and storytelling that make Magic Kingdom so special. Have the most magical time unlocking the secrets of Magic Kingdom. If more questions pop up as you prepare for your tour, we’re always happy to help here at
planDisney!
Adventure is out there,
Candace
