Hi there Samantha and welcome to planDisney!
I can definitely relate to the feeling of heading out to one of the
Disney Parks around the world and the very real feeling of missing out whenever
an attraction is down for refurbishments during our visit. When it comes to the Disneyland Paris iteration of
"its a small world", the uniqueness of both the layout, music, spoken languages and even overall appearance compared to all the other versions internationally makes this version very special to Walt Disney Imagineering fans like myself, so I was happy to take the opportunity to have a look for you into what's happening with this iconic attraction heading into 2025:
At the current time, "
its a small world" continues to be scheduled for closure from January 20, 2025 onwards and it appears that no schedule has been officially released for February 2025 at the time of writing. I reached out to the
Cast Members at Disneyland Paris who could not confirm whether or when this attraction might reopen in February, and they advised checking the
Park Hours as soon as they are updated.
In my personal experience, there have indeed been times when rides or attractions have actually reopened early to the surprise and delight of fellow guests but there's really no telling in advance when it comes to "its a small world" and the extent of any work that needs to be completed during its closure. While on the bright side this can sometimes signal something as small as a fresh coat of paint and general upkeep, there were also times in the past like the
Experience Enhancement Programme when major closures meant
reimagined experiences and new developments courtesy of Walt Disney Imagineering.
I think it's a great idea to keep a close eye on the
Disneyland Paris mobile app to check the Calendar for what is Under Refurbishment. Currently there are a number of ongoing closures scheduled for January including
Big Thunder Mountain, the
Pirate Galleon as well as various
Disneyland Railroad stations and
Playgrounds so it's curious that no attractions are yet listed as closed into the first week of February - so hopefully we'll see updates to this over the next few weeks to determine what the month may actually look like. (The early part of the year following the holidays does seem to be a very typical time for projects to be completed, so while I might often head in with the expectation that certain experiences or offerings may not be available, I'm crossing my fingers that you might hopefully be able to experience "its a small world" when you come to Disneyland Paris!)
Wishing you all the best on your quest to set sail on the Seven Seaways canal!
