    We are booked for Jan 1-7th 2012...i know that is the marathon week. Is the crowds unbearable and will it ruin the trip? We went in the middle of March and it was pretty crowded. but we managed. So in Marathon week more crowded than in March. Thanks!

    Hi Jessica,

    My best estimate is that you will have no problems with crowds due to marathon weekend when you visit in January.  My sister's family has visited during this week in the past and they had no problems with excessive crowds.  Keep in mind that the Half-Marathon will not be run until the 7th (the day you are leaving) and the Marathon will be run on the 8th, so you will likely be missing the majority of the race events and traffic.  I'm sure you saw bigger crowds in March than you will see in January 2012.
