Hello, Loretta and welcome to planDisney!
Loretta, as a
Disney Vacation Club Member I love being able to choose from so many different types of accommodations and am happy to talk about
the villa options!
Now, just as Timon and Pumba helped Simba navigate his surroundings, I'm hEAR to serve as your guide to Disney Vacation Club terminology!
The 2-Bedroom Lock-Off Villa is essentially a deluxe studio room and a 1-Bedroom Villa combined to create a 2-Bedroom unit. Some Disney Vacation Club Resorts have dedicated 2-Bedroom Villas whereas others have these Lock-Off villas.
Loretta, you might be wondering,
what's the difference? The difference is that in the 2-Bedroom Lock-Off you will find a few extra doors that can close off the deluxe studio from the 1-Bedroom Villa portion including an extra door to the exterior. You will also find an additional kitchenette (as you would find in any deluxe studio). Another way to imagine this layout is to think about adjoining hotel rooms with doors that can open allowing entry to both rooms. Here, those rooms are a 1-Bedroom Villa and a Deluxe Studio. You can also check out the floor plan
HERE.
Loretta, I hope this helps as you're planning ahead. My family and I stayed at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas- Kidani Village just this past August and were in awe of the
animals grazing at every turn. If you get the chance, I encourage you to chat with the friendly Cast Members about the animals. They are stationed all around the savanna and love to share facts about the (
over 30 species of) animals!
Best wishes, Loretta, for a vacation that will have you feeling like the King of the Pride Lands while you whistle
Hakuna Matata. If you have any additional questions, please come on back to planDisney.
