Hiya, Michele! Welcome to planDisney and thanks for your question!
I'm so excited to know that you have a Disneyland Resort vacation coming up in just a few months! I am also delighted to hear that you are planning on purchasing
Magic Keys so you can enjoy the parks all year long. If you are not planning on visiting the parks before your scheduled November trip, I suggest keeping your current tickets and
theme park reservations in place. Then, on the last day of your vacation, you can upgrade those tickets to Magic Key passes and only pay the difference in price. This method will also allow you to keep your current theme park reservations for November. If you upgrade your tickets at ticket booth before your trip begins, any theme park reservations you currently hold will be canceled and there may not be theme park reservation availability at that time for your Magic Key passes.
So, on November 24th, enter the theme parks as you normally would. Then sometime before the parks close that day, you can upgrade to a Magic Key in the
Disneyland app. Just keep in mind that your Magic Key activation date will be retroactive to the first day you used your multi-day tickets. Since you are a California resident, you will have the option to use a monthly payment plan to buy your Magic Key pass or your can opt to pay the difference in full.
If you intend to visit the Disneyland Resort before your November trip and want to get Magic Keys at that time, or if you want to be able to use your Magic Key discounts when you visit in November, then you will need to call the Walt Disney Travel Company at (714) 520-5060 to cancel or modify your vacation package. They may be able to convert your package to a room only hotel reservation or they might have to cancel and rebook you.
I hope this information was helpful. Have a wonderful time at the Happiest Place on Earth this November!
