    I've just booked my 2014 holiday :-D for 2 weeks from the UK. I've upgraded to the Deluxe DP and my holiday came in at over £6000. Having spent a lot already how much should I allow for meal tipping? I'm concerned of the added cost to my holiday.

    What a great holiday you have planned for 2014!  You are going to have an amazing time with your extended stay at Walt Disney World. 

    The amount of money spent on tipping at meals will depend on a few thinks.  First, it will vary depending on how many table service meals you plan on booking.  The more table service meals, the higher your  cost will be.  With quick service meals, you do not have the added expense of tips.

    Another factor is how many guests are in your party.  If you have 6 or more at your table, you will automatically be charged 18% gratuity.  If less than 5 guests, 15 - 18% is customary. 

    If you are worried about the cost of your vacation, you might want to consider changing to the base Disney Dining Plan.  It is much cheaper, and you can simply pay out of pocket for any additional meals.  This way, you will not feel obligated to book a ton of meals because you feel you want your money's worth.  The Deluxe Dining Plan is great, but it is a LOT of food!  If you are big eaters and enjoy 3 full meals a day, then go for it!  If you prefer to spend your time enjoying the parks, attractions, and other things and 2 full meals a day with a light breakfast or lunch and a snack sounds good, consider the base plan.  It's up to you, but think about it!  If you want some more details on either plan or a dining schedule to get some ideas, just let me know.
