    We booked the helicopter to the Mendenhall Glacier w/ Dog Sled on the Alaska cruise. We are to receive "glacier boots". Do these boots go over shoes, or are we given boots? If we use our shoes, what shoes are best (especially for kids)?

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Wow! Your upcoming Disney Cruise to Alaska is going to be unforgettable! In my opinion, Alaska is one of the most phenomenal itineraries Disney Cruise Line offers. I'm so excited for you and your family to explore the Mendenhall Glacier while mushing a team of dogs across it!

    Although my family has sailed to Alaska twice aboard the Disney Wonder, I haven't experienced the Dog Sledding on the Mendenhall Glacier by Helicopter Port Adventure yet. You've asked such a wonderful question, and I want to help you find out the answer. I recommend emailing the Disney Cruise Line Shore Excursion Team directly at dcl.shore.excursions@disney.com to ask them whether the glacier boots are actual boots that you change into, or something that slips on over your shoes. I apologize that I'm not able to give you a definitive answer, but I'm confident that if you email the amazing Shore Excursion Team, they will be able to help you!
