Booked ground transportation for DCL but have an early arrival at MCO. Curious about travelers who arrive before ground transportation begins at 9:30 a.m. Do we still get to skip baggage claim? Can we leave MCO, return as transfers begin?

    Welcome aboard, David -

So glad to see a fellow Californian heading out on a magical voyage with Disney Cruise Line. The long haul from California to Orlando doesn't seem so long when you know you'll be enjoying an awesome vacation in just a matter of hours. You must be on one of those red-eye flights that gets you into MCO early in the morning. Our family has been on that flight a couple of times, and it's funny how my kids still get excited throughout that plane ride, no matter how uncomfortable their sleeping positions are.

If you get there in the early morning, you'll likely find yourself wanting to have some breakfast first and then take some time to stretch out. Since it is still early, you can actually pick up your check in luggage at baggage claim and take it downstairs with you to the Magical Express Welcome Center on Side B Level 1. During these odd hours at the airport, I've always felt more comfortable picking up my baggage and bringing it along with me -- for my peace of mind. It will be extra early for you, since your body clock is still running California time. You will likely be running a little slow motion (aka: a very leisurely pace)... it's vacation mode speed :-).

Once you are done checking-in at the counter, you can make yourself comfortable on one of the many comfortable seats in the waiting area. It seems more of a hassle to leave the airport and return after a short couple of hours, so we've found ourselves stretching out in the waiting area and catching some more zzzz's while waiting for our motor coach. Of course, if you'd really want to venture out, you can too -- just pay close attention to the time so that you can be back in time for your pick up.

You'll be kicking back and relaxing on your cruise vacation soon, David! Say 'hello' to Captain Mickey for me!

    Have a great day!
    ~ Dolly

PS: don't forget to attach your luggage tags
