We just booked our first/last minute DCL trip (Feb.19-22) & I'm feeling a little overwhelmed. We would like to add a couple of days before and after at WDW. Will Disney provide us a shuttle to the cruise? Any other tips for a first time trip? Thank

    Ahoy Pebbles –
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and congratulations on booking your first Disney Cruise!  Pretty soon, you will be “Dream”ing on the seas on the Disney Dream! I am so excited to help you plan this trip because I will be sailing those same dates myself. Your pirate family will love their time on the Dream and you will find how enjoyable it is to link your cruise with some time at the Walt Disney World Resort. My crew loves to book these Land and Sea vacations, and for us it is the best way to pair up relaxing luxury with adventure and fun.
After you book your stay at your resort of choice at Walt Disney World, you can purchase round trip transfers to the cruise terminal and back to your resort. This can be done online if you booked yourself, by your travel agent, or by calling Disney Cruise Line at (800) 951-3532. For my trip, I paid $70 per person to get round trip service between the resort to the port and back.  Disney’s Magical Express will take care of your luggage at the airport and magically deliver them to your resort and then back to the airport after checkout. Make sure that you book the transfers before your cruise date.
My biggest tip for first time cruisers is to read your Personal Navigator which is a treasure map to all of the fun aboard the Dream. You will be able to do so much if you plan ahead, and you might find my pirate crew poring over the Navigator before we are called to board because we don’t want to miss a minute of fun.  As soon as the safety drill is over, head up to deck 11 to start your cruise with a Sailing Away Celebration with Mickey and the gang. Don’t miss the first run movies, Broadway style shows, and crazy family fun with karaoke, bingo, and game shows. For adults, I highly recommend a meal at Palo or Remy as the cuisine is amazing. Pebbles, I know your crew will have a fabulous vacation and maybe my pirate crew will run into you there!
