We have just booked our first family WDW vacation! This is a last minute trip and will be arriving in less than 2 months. There is so much to do and plan for, are there any good sources for planning a last minute vacation?

    Hi Melinda,

How exciting that your trip is coming up so soon!  I think if you act quickly, you'll have plenty of time to ensure that you take care of all of the "key" planning details.  The most important is that you call (407) WDW-DINE (939-3463) as soon as possible to make advance dining reservations for the restaurants that you are sure you would like to dine at.  This is especially true if you have your heart set on character meals, as these are very popular and book up quickly.  The Disney website has a great overview of all of the restaurants, and the independent website is also an excellent resource, and includes menus for many of the restaurants.

If you want to take any special tours or attend any dinner shows (Spirit of Aloha Show, Mickey's Backyard BBQ, etc.), I would firm these reservations up as soon as possible as well.

If you are staying on site, be sure to sign up for Disney's Magical Express, a free luggage and transportation service from Orlando International Airport.  Finally, browse through the website under each park, and think about what attractions and entertainment options your family is most interested in. and are both great online resources as you start to plan your trip.

    Have a wonderful time!
