Hi, we just booked our first family vacation to WDW in May. I have 2 boys who will be 7 & 5. We plan to visit all 4 parks (was thinking 2 days for MK and 1 day each for Epcot, AK & HS). Is there a suggested/recommended order to visit each?

    Hi Sherri,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Happy planning your first trip to the Walt Disney World Resort!

We tend to start and end with Magic Kingdom. We watch the fireworks on the first night at Magic Kingdom and then jump in standby lines for rides while everyone else is watching the fireworks on our last night. Since Disney's Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios have a few incredibly popular attractions, I have started visiting those parks later in our visit so that we have a better chance of getting Fast Pass+ for Avatar Flight of Passage and Slinky Dog Dash. My suggested order would therefore be Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Animal Kingdom, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Magic Kingdom.

We also sometimes do not visit a park on our first day. On our last visit, we arrived, checked into the resort hotel, ate a snack, went to play miniature golf at Fantasia Gardens and Fairways and then enjoyed dinner at The Edison at Disney Springs. As you consider other activities, I think your boys will love Pirates at Walt Disney World Resort - pick one or two activities. If either of your boys can wield a lightsaber, we desperately need new recruits for Jedi Training - Trials of the Temple. Training is fierce and spots are limited so arrive prior to park opening and sign-up as soon as you enter the park. And, at Magic Kingdom, try Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom. Our girls were 7-years old when we first played and they were hooked - they love unlocking the magic portals around the park!

Sherri, may the Force be with you as you plan!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
