We just booked our first ever trip to disney land and i am so sad to learn that toon town wont be there for my mickey obsessed 3 year old! please tell me theres other amazing places to interact with mickey characters and their world. Where should i start?

Hi Emily! You've brought your question to the right place! We at planDisney love nothing more than helping Guests just like yourself plan magical vacations to the Happiest Place on Earth ... and a FIRST visit is just the most special of all! I was 3 myself when I took my first steps on Main Street, U.S.A. and it sparked a love of wonder, magic, and ... Mickey!

While Mickey's Toontown will be undergoing a reimagining this spring, there are oh-so-many ways for your Mouseketeer to feel that Mickey magic. He is sprinkled throughout the entire Disneyland Resort! For a guaranteed interaction with the main mouse, I would recommend booking a reservation for Mickey's Tales of Adventure Breakfast Buffet at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. Character dining usually offers longer and more unique interactions with your favorite friends. While the experience is still currently modified (no hugs or autographs, yet!), it does not make it any less magical.

After your breakfast, head to Disney California Adventure Park for the Disney Junior Dance Party. This show is adorable! You'll see lots of Disney Junior friends live on stage, including Mickey and Minnie from Mickey and the Roadster Racers. There's tons of singing and dancing, and it's also a great place to take a break from the sun and have your little one shimmy out some energy. While you're here, be sure to check out the timings for Disney Pals on Buena Vista Street where Mickey likes to make an appearance in his Old Hollywood best!

Disneyland Park is where you will likely find a magical nighttime show featuring your favorite mouse. I would recommend checking the Entertainment Schedule as you get closer to your travel dates as we are expecting some updates this spring! Currently, you can end your day watching Mickey's Mix Magic, a celebration of all things ... you guessed it ... Mickey Mouse (and Minnie, of course!). Music, excitement, and projections light-up Sleeping Beauty Castle and all of Main Street, U.S.A. On weekends, there is the added bonus of fantastic fireworks lighting up the sky! While an exact date has not been announced quite yet, the nighttime spectacular Fantasmic! is expected to make a return this spring, hopefully in time for your trip! My kids just love this show and talk about it all the time! Follow Mickey for an adventure through his dreams ... and some favorite Disney films and attractions. Fantasmic! takes place outside over the Rivers of America and it is just pure Disney magic. Keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for more information on when Fantasmic! will debut!

Emily, I hope this was helpful! For me, Mickey is in every corner of the magic at the Disneyland Resort. No matter how you spend your days, you are in for some forever memory-making. Be sure to stop by City Hall and get a complimentary "First Visit" button - it might just bring some extra pixie dust to your day! If you have any other questions, stop by and see us again at planDisney

    We'll see ya real soon!
