Hi, I just booked my first Disney cruise and what to know if I will find out my dining itinerary before boarding. For example will we have a pirate night to dress up for?

Ahoy there, Jasmine! Welcome aboard, planDisney!

A first Disney cruise is an exciting and magical milestone! As a Disney cruise lover, it makes me giddy to find first-time Disney cruisers because I know from experience that you’re about to embark on the most spectacular adventure!

One of the unique attributes of sailing with Captain Mickey is Rotational Dining. This is Disney Cruise Line's way of ensuring you get to dine at one of the three main restaurants on board each evening, so that by the end of your cruise, you’ve experienced all of them. I love it because the menus are themed to the restaurant, and it makes the entire dinner experience feel special, like we “went out to dinner” but on our Disney cruise! Plus, in true Disney fashion, depending on the restaurant theme, sometimes a few of our Disney pals show up too!

Each stateroom receives its dining rotation schedule on the first day of the cruise, once on board or at the port. It will be listed in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App. To connect to it, once you arrive at the port on the day you embark your cruise, put your phone on airplane mode and log in to the ship’s wifi, then tap "On Board or at the Port", so that you can see the ship’s schedule in real time. That is where you will find your Rotational Dining schedule. I know you’re probably eager to find it at home, but it’s one more magical surprise Disney Cruise Line has waiting for us when we get there! One of my favorite parts about embarkation day is opening up my app at the port and seeing where we’re dining that first evening!

As for which night might be Pirate Night, that is something you can find at home, and I’d be happy to show you how. Once your booking window opens, which will be 75 days from the first day of your cruise, log in to the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App and open up “My Plans”. Scroll through by date and tap “Onboard Activities”, then “Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique” under each date. The day that allows you to make a Pirate Themed Makeover at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is the day projected to be Pirate Night. Please keep in mind that this date is projected, and offerings are always subject to change.

Lastly, while super exciting, I know from experience that planning your first Disney cruise can sometimes feel a bit daunting, but I have a suggestion so you know exactly which steps to take next. Captain Mickey made it easy, with all the tools at our fingertips in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App! Under your reservation, tap "At Home" to log in at home, and in the “Next Steps” section, there will be a step-by-step guide to continue planning your cruise. It will guide you in making Ground Transportation reservations, your final cruise payment date, completing your Online Check-In, etc. It's like having our own Fairy Godmother guiding us towards all the fun waiting on board!

Jasmine, I hope this helped and offered clarification. I wish you the most magical memories on board. Please sail back to planDisney if you have any more questions.
