Just booked our first Disney cruise for Jan 2021 on the Disney Magic for 4 nights. I was wondering what time the Oceaneer Club is open until. We will be traveling with a 3 and 5 year old and would like one night for just my husband and I as a date night

    Hi Geraldine!

I love hearing you have a Disney Magic sailing on the horizon! You are on the ball in thinking about your onboard activities, especially some grown-up time.

Disney Cruise Line understands that parents need a little one-on-one time without the kids, so the Youth Club hours are designed with that in mind. While actual hours may vary from cruise to cruise, generally either the Oceaneer Club or Oceaneer Lab is open until midnight.  Check the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for precise times, but that should give you and your Prince Charming plenty of time together before the clock strikes midnight!

For your date night, I would recommend starting with a pre-dinner drink in one of the many Disney Magic lounges, followed by dinner at Palo. After Hours is an adults only zone in the evenings and home to Keys, my favorite lounge on the Disney Magic with its cool chill piano bar vibe and the delish Coco Royale!

Prepare to have your tastebuds wowed at Palo with Italian dishes! The ambiance and food headfakes your brain that you actually are in Italy. This experience costs extra, but I promise it is worth securing a reservation when your Advance Booking Window opens. But don’t despair if you cannot snag a reservation in advance; make one when you first board the ship on Embarkation Day.

To commemorate your special date night, book a private photo session at Shutters Portrait Studio. After all, you’ll already be dressed up for Palo! We all know how we do for our kids but not always for ourselves. We should absolutely change that, and a private shoot would document your special evening.

Kick back and enjoy the entertainment in the adult-only nightclubs. From comedy acts, magic shows, and fun games, laughter is truly the best medicine! My favorite way to burn off those Palo calories? Dancing and singing along during Silent DJ. It’s an absolute hoot!

Whatever you decide for your dream date night, know that your kiddos are having the time of their lives in the Youth Clubs and in excellent hands. Pop back by the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you need more planning advice for your MAGICal cruise!

    SEA ya real soon!
