We just booked our first Disney cruise aboard the magic in April. We have second seating time (8:30) for dinner. My boys are 8 & 6, if they can't last until 8:30 can they eat at the buffet and go to a babysitting service while my husband and I have din

Hi Katherine, You are going to love the Disney Magic! I've sailed on that ship three times and it's near and dear to my heart. I am thrilled to hear that it's your first Disney cruise! I fear (ok, maybe not) that you'll be ruined for other cruise lines. I know my family and I certainly were. I love Second Seating because I prefer to see the evening's show before dinner. You can definitely feed the kids at any of the counter service or buffets that are open if you don't think they'll last until 8:30. When my kids were younger I would get them a snack an hour before the show. That gave them that hour, the duration of the show, and the time in between the show and your dinner seating to get hungry again. Worked like a charm. As for dropping them off at the clubs so you can have a relaxing dinner? Go right ahead. That's what the clubs are there for; their entertainment and your mommy time. Remember to book your dinner at Palo. It's my favorite experience on the ship! I hope you have a magical sailing! Please come back and let me know if you have any other questions. BON VOYAGE!

Magic Kingdom still takes my breath away, but my favorite place to be is on a Disney ship looking at the horizon and breathing in that crisp, clean ocean air!  I love planning Disney vacations for others and making sure it's more than they dreamed. Learn More About Marisol
