Just booked our first cruise on DCL! October 2012 to the Bahamas, deluxe oceanview stateroom with a verandah. A cruise book I have been reading states verandahs are open with the exception of staterooms located aft, which ours is. Correct or not? Tx!

    Ahoy there Cindy!

Congratulations on booking your first cruise on Disney Cruise Line.  I guarantee that once you sail with Disney, you'll never want to sail with any other cruise line.  No one else offers so much magic on the high seas!

What you read about aft staterooms with verandahs is true, but this should be no cause for concern.  It simply means that instead of the railings of the verandah being covered with plexiglas, they are opaque.  If you are standing at the railing of your verandah, you will have a full stunning view of the ocean.  You will not have the same view, obviously, if you are seated.  Some folks actually prefer this arrangement because it affords them an increased level of privacy for their stateroom while they are docked.  However, if you would prefer a different kind of stateroom, simply call Disney Cruise Line at (800) 951-3532 or your travel agent to revise your reservation.

Wishing you a magical cruise in October 2012!
