Booked family vacation, recently found out my 3 1/2 needs a ticket and I purchased it but now there are no Disneyland reservations open for December 5th. What do you recommend that I do? Everyone has a ticket for that date but her :(

    Welcome, Alexis!

The holiday season at the Disneyland Resort is such a special time, and it's exciting that your family is getting ready to share that magic. Realizing your 3 1/2 year suddenly needs a ticket and finding out reservations are booked is definitely an unexpected hiccup in your planning. While my magic wand doesn't extend far enough to open up that reservation calendar for you, let's take a look at a few options to help keep everyone together on December 5th.

First and foremost, Guest are always changing their plans and rescheduling park reservations. While this is not a guarantee, I highly encourage you to keep checking the reservation calendar, as something may open up. Looks like this Friday and Saturday will be busy days at Disneyland Park as both are currently at capacity for theme park reservations. Guests are asked to cancel reservations the day before if they are no longer able to attend, so I would be ready with fast fingers in the few days leading up to your park day, as this is when you will see the most movement.

While you are continuing to check the theme park reservation availability calendar, I would also give the Guest Services team a call directly. They can see far deeper into your account and possibly provide some options for you. If you happen to be staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel, hotel Guests have access to a different pool of theme park reservations, which may have some additional availability. I would ask them about this option if this is the case for you.

If your family has Park Hopper tickets, you could modify your theme park reservations to start together at California Adventure and all plan to park hop over to Disneyland after 11:00 AM. This would give you the flexibility to enjoy both parks, and you can go back and forth as much as you like for the remainder of the day. If your family is holding One-Park-Per-Day tickets and you are eager to lock in your plans ahead of time, I have a unique suggestion. While this is not an ideal scenario, you could upgrade to Park Hoppers for your child and one adult who would spend the early morning at California Adventure and then join the rest of the family at Disneyland after 11:00 AM. To make changes to the tickets, you can simply open the Disneyland app, head to the three-line icon in the bottom right-hand corner, and tap "My Tickets & Passes". Scroll to the ticket you'd like to modify and tap "Change Ticket". Within this section, you can update your theme park reservation to California Adventure and add the Park Hopper option for the adult ticket and the child's ticket. Not ideal, I know, but there are many magical minutes that the family would get to spend together after 11:00 AM.

Alexis, I know we weren't able to find you a concrete answer but I hope we've provided a few steps forward. I am wishing upon a star that you are enjoying the magic together on Friday! If you have any more questions, we are always here for you at planDisney
