Hello, we have booked our family vacation for Nov 19-25th this year. I'm so excited Christmas is my favorite holiday. Will the Christmas decorations be up by then? and is the Christmas party a must? Does MK close to the public if you don't have tickets?

    Hi Jennice,

The holidays at Walt Disney World are surely a sight to see. The decorations are beyond amazing and it is certainly a wonderful way to enjoy this special time of year.

Yes, the Christmas decorations will go up shortly after Halloween in early November in time for the first Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party which occurs on November 8th this year. Not only will decorations be up in the parks, but around the resorts, too. My favorite are the lifesize gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian Resort and the gingerbread carousel at Boardwalk Inn. If you get a chance to go to these resorts, I would highly recommend it for this unique experience you won't see too many other places.

I love the special events like Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. There is extra special magic like special parades and fireworks, characters in holiday attire, complimentary hot cocoa and cookies and it SNOWS on Main Street. Yes, it SNOWS in Florida each night right there on Main Street! You must have a ticket to the event to stay in the park for the party at 7pm, when the park will close to those without a ticket.

I hope this helps you plan your festive trip to Walt Disney World in November.
