Hi Rebecca! How exciting that you are going on your first Walt Disney World Resort vacation! All the information can feel overwhelming at first, but before you know it you'll be a pro at itinerary planning.
I recommend you begin by watching some
vacation planning videos to get an overview of the Resort and some ideas of what you might like to do during your visit. When my family plans, we choose 3 must-do activities for each family member per park or per day of our vacation. Usually there is some overlap, and we manage to fit in more things, but it is a good place to start. To see what rides and attractions might be suitable for your children, you can sort this
list by location and filter by Age Interest and/or Height. In general, an attraction for "Any Height" would be suitable for your 1-year-old.
If you haven't already, you'll want to create a My Disney Experience account. This is where you'll keep track of your reservations, and when the time comes (60 days prior to your stay) make your FastPass+ selections.
Dining reservations for Table Service locations may be made up to 180 days prior to your vacation. I suggest browsing various dining options so you will be ready to reserve your top choices. An iconic part of a first Disney vacation is
Character Dining. A different assortment of characters are featured at each location, so you can select one with your children's favorites.
Chef Mickey's is a popular choice with classic Disney Friends.
Rebecca, when you are ready for the next step, please come back and ask more questions. We are always happy to help!
