What if I booked an extra night on accident? Is there any way I can change it?

    Hiya, Riley!

Welcome to planDisney!  How exciting that your magical vacation is just around the riverbend.  I understand that you are hoping to modify your reservation by changing your check-out date, and so I'll walk you through seeing if you can do that as well as the modification and cancellation policies.

For modifying your Resort reservation, depending on the type of reservation, you may be able to update or modify your hotel reservation or your package online. To check this, sign into your My Disney Experience account, go to My Reservations, and you should see a link that says "Modify Reservation."  If your reservation cannot be modified online, you will need to call the Reservations team.  Please note that a change fee may be applied.

Typically, Room-Only reservations can be modified up to 24 hours in advance before your scheduled check-in date, but within 24 hours, you can't make modifications. If you have a vacation package, it's a bit different. In this case, you can make changes without penalty 30 days or more from your scheduled check-in date.  From 29-2 days before check-in, modifications will require a $50 fee (subject to change). So it depends on how your hotel is booked - if it is Room-Only or within a package (like a hotel and ticket package for example) for which scenario applies.

For your future reference, here are the cancellation policies for Room-Only reservations and Vacation Packages. For a Room-Only reservation, at this time, the Resort cancellation can be made up to 5 days in advance for a full refund.  From 0-4 days, you lose the cost of a one-night stay (which is the deposit). Please note that policies are always subject to change.  If you need to cancel your Room-Only reservation, you can contact Guest Services to do that for you.

If you book your Resort reservation in a Vacation Package, meaning you have your Resort reservation as part of a room and ticket package, you can cancel the entire package up to 30 days out from your arrival date for a full refund.  From 2 to 29 days, you can cancel but will forfeit a $200 cancelation fee, though prices are subject to change.  If you cancel the day before or on the day of your arrival, unfortunately, that is a complete forfeiture of the entire package cost.

However, since you are hoping to modify, you can try seeing if you can make that modification online or if you need to call, in which case I recommend doing it right away.

I hope this helps you, Riley! If you have any further Disney planning questions, stop back and see me here and I'll be so happy to help you.
