Ahoy there, Jackie! Welcome aboard planDisney! I see you're just a few months away from an exciting Bahamian itinerary! What a great way to escape the throes of winter here in the middle of the country. I may just have to hop onto one last-minute, myself!
As the father of a little sailor myself, I know the feeling of worry that comes with filling the hours at a beach firsthand. While no island can really measure up to
Disney Castaway Cay when it comes to entertaining the little ones, Blue Lagoon Island offers plenty to do to fill the four-to-five hours of the
Port Adventure!
Between the ferry rides to and from the island, the included lunch, hosted beach games, calm waters of the lagoon to splash, swim and build sandcastles in, gift shops and local vendors for souvenirs, and the marine habitat where you can visit dolphins, sea lions, and - my personal favorite - stingrays, there is more than enough to fill the time! You may just find yourself wishing for more time to relax, but all Port Adventures must come to an end - though you'll be headed back to an incredible
Disney Cruise Line ship, so I'd call that a win-win!
Anyway, I'm excited that you and your crew were able to get a spot on the
Blue Lagoon Island Beach Day Port Adventure! That one really books up fast, so you are already a step ahead. One last planDrew-approved tip: if you're bringing an umbrella stroller aboard the cruise with you, this is a great opportunity to use it for one or both of your kiddos, since larger strollers are NOT recommended on this particular Port Adventure!
I hope that puts you at ease a bit with your decision, Jackie! Take full advantage of being able to snag that reservation, and have a wonderful time! Thank you so much for your question, and if you have any others as you continue planning for February, drop another message in a bottle to us here at planDisney!
Until then, we'll SEA ya real soon!
Andrew
