We just booked the Eastern Carribean cruise that departs January 29. We are in Illinois, and will be flying down about a day and a half early in case of snow. Would you recommend staying at the Orlando airport the night before departure or closer to port?

    Hi Miranda,

There is nothing better for us Northern folk than escaping to the beautiful blue carribbean waters during the winter months!

We are totally on the same page, and I can tell you that my family likes to stay right at the Hyatt at the airport.  Simply retrieve your luggage and head upstairs to the hotel.  No shuttles, cabs or need to even go outside!  The airport has a fairly large mall and food court - so it's a very easy place to spend some time before your voyage.  What's even better is that if you purchase the transfers through Disney Cruise Line, you will be able to board the motorcoach right from the airport on the day of your embarkation for transportation to the port.

There are several hotels in Port Canaveral that will provide transportation to the cruise terminal - but personally  I prefer to stay at the airport and load/unload my luggage as little as possible!

    I hope this helps!
