Hi I have just booked the dream oceanview stateroom but it says it's a gty category 9D what does this mean? Which deck is this on and are cancellation still the same?

Ahoy there, Angela! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.

Angela, my family and I have a cruise booked on the Disney Dream as well! While we aren't setting sail until September, we are already counting down the days until we can jump back on board! Now, let's chat about your sailing.

A category 9D GTY is a guaranteed stateroom, meaning that if you have booked an oceanview, you are guaranteed to receive that type of room (there are different options within that category), but you won't be notified of the actual location of the stateroom until close to your departure date. Typically a guaranteed room is a bit less expensive because you don't select your actual stateroom and the bonus is that there is a slight chance of an upgrade (because you haven't selected the stateroom and Disney Cruise Line has flexibility with your location). Now, while I can't tell you exactly what deck you'll be on as there are oceanview staterooms on multiple levels, I will encourage you to check out the deck plans HERE. Category 9D Oceanview rooms are located on decks 5, 6, 7, and 8.

Now, Angela, since you inquired about the cancellation policy, please take a look at the following. These apply only to residents of the UK and parts of the UE, so if you have friends stateside, make sure to note their cancellation policies may look different:

For sailing that are 1-5 Nights
45+ days = 20% of voyage fare per Guest
44-30 days = 50% of voyage fare per Guest
29-15 days = 75% of voyage fare per Guest
14 days or less = 100% of voyage fare per Guest

For sailings that are 6 Nights or longer
56+ days = 20% of voyage fare per Guest
55-30 days = 50% of voyage fare per Guest
29-15 days = 75% of voyage fare per Guest
14 days or less = 100% of voyage fare per Guest

Angela, I hope this helps as you're looking ahead to August. I'll be wishing on a star that you love your stateroom and location. If you have any additional questions, please come on back to planDisney!
