We have booked our dream holiday to disney on 5th July 2010 for 9 nights flying in from London England and staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge, our daughter will almost 6. Have we made a terrible mistake booking July? We had no choice workwise.:(

Hi David!  July is a hot and humid weather month in Florida but every year many guests come for a Disney visit and still manage to have a wonderful time.  If you do not have the choice to choose other months where the weather might be a little more tolerable then you just make your Disney plans where you can adapt!

The average July temperatures range from 73-92 degrees.  On average they might also get about 6.2 inches of rain this month but that mostly comes with the late afternoon showers.

You will enjoy the Animal Kingdom Lodge as it is a favorite for many of the Moms Panelists.  During the hottest part of the day plan on heading back to your resort for some pool time and naps.  The heat can zap your energy quickly so this helps to give yourself a rest break.  If you have an afternoon shower or storm try not to head out of the parks but instead head to an indoor attraction until it passes.  The crowds sometimes thin out when it rains leaving shorter lines for those that can endure!

Check the park calendars for the parade and firework schedules and make your dining reservations as soon as possible.  407-939-3463  Because it is such a busy time it is highly recommended you make reservations for all your dining and recreation that you might want to enjoy during your stay.

Last but not least make sure you take at least one day to enjoy one of the great water parks on property.  During the summer they fill to capacity quickly so head there first thing in the morning so you won't be disappointed.

Have a wonderful summer holiday at Walt Disney World!
