Hi there, Tian! Welcome to planDisney. Not only do you have a magical vacation planned on the
Disney Wish but you are also planning a proposal! This is not a strange idea, and I have seen a proposal happen in the Grand Hall.
I'm not sure what Disney character you are thinking of dressing up as, but Disney Cruise Line does have some
guidelines when it comes to Guest wearing costumes. Guests are invited to dress in costume during themed cruises like
Marvel Day at Sea and onboard celebrations like
Pirate Night. Masks that completely cover one's face may only be worn when standing still at character photo locations and must be carried when moving around the ship. Guests cannot pose for pictures or sign autographs.
Since you will be on a
Very Merrytime Cruise, here are some suggestions to consider:
- In the atrium of the Disney Wish, there will be a Christmas tree and a life-sized gingerbread house. Both would serve as a merry backdrop for your proposal.
- You will have Pirate Night on Night 3 of your sailing. A proposal during the fireworks would make a great story to share with family and friends upon your return to the mainland.
- While on Disney Castaway Cay, there are lots of places that would be great for a proposal. If you have someone sailing with you that will serve as your personal photographer for the moment, there is a photo spot that will have the Disney Wish in the background. You can also visit the adult-exclusive Serenity Bay for a photo opportunity.
- During or after dinner in one of the adult-exclusive restaurants Palo Steakhouse or Enchante' by Chef Arnaud Lallement are also great locations for such a special occasion. The décor is inspired by Beauty and the Beast.
Tian, I hope these suggestions spark your imagination and help you plan your proposal. Even without a costume, I know it will be a memorable moment that you all will talk about in the years to come. If you have any other questions, sail back to
planDisney. We are here to help.
Wishing you a merry cruise,
