Hello! We are booked on the Disney Wish and were booked by Disney in an accessible room with a verandah. We’ll have a toddler with us. Do the verandah doors in the accessible rooms also include the safety locks higher up?

Greetings, and welcome to planDisney, Clara.

I’m so happy to hear that you’ll be sailing so soon, my goodness how very excited you must be, and on the Disney Wish, congratulations! Your Disney Cruise Line - Halloween on the High Seas sailing will be simply spooktacular!

Clara, you will be pleased to hear that Wheelchair Accessible Stateroom doors that lead to the verandah have two locks, one that is beneath the door handle which would be easily reached by a Guest in a wheelchair, and there is also another lock higher up which would only be reached by a taller person. The verandah door opens outward to the verandah, it doesn’t slide open. The stateroom door leading to the hallway has a handle with a lock and there is also a button you can push to activate the door – something to keep in mind with a curious toddler. When our children were younger, we used to get the child door alarms just for that extra peace of mind.

If you need any special accommodations, or if you plan on traveling with a mobility aid or a wheelchair, kindly fill out the Disney Cruise Line – Special Services Form as soon as possible or contact Disney Cruise Line Special Services at:

    Fax: (407) 566-3760
    TTY: (407) 566-7455
    Email: SpecialServices@disneycruise.com.

Clara, keeping your child in mind, you might find it helpful to refer to Disney Cruise Line’s – Traveling with Infants & Young Children page for frequently asked questions in preparation for your sailing.

Don’t forget to complete your Online Check-In to expedite your arrival, complete the necessary documentation and select your port arrival time. As well, refer to Disney Cruise Line’s – Know Before You Sail resource for any other important information before and during your sailing.

    Tip:
Using the handy Disney Cruise Line Navigator App not only will you be able to manage your plans and communicate with your travel party, but you can book a future cruise during your sailing with the Disney Cruise Line Onboard-Only Offer, isn’t that neat?

It was my pleasure assisting you, Clara, I wish you a wonderful voyage on the enchanting Disney Wish, please pop back over if you have any last-minute questions!

    Best Disney Wishes!
    Jacqueline
