    Hello. I booked a Disney property hotel and tickets though a website other then the Disney website. How do I link my tickets and hotel room to my account so I can use the magic band?

    Hi Jessica! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question!

    MagicBands are an essential accessory that I cannot leave home without when traveling to the Walt Disney World Resort. The morning we are getting ready to leave, I put it on my wrist and do not take it off until we get home. I love the ease of not having to carry a wallet around to the parks since I can use my MagicBand for payment on almost any item. I also don’t have to worry about losing my resort room key because the MagicBand takes the place out of that as well. When I arrive back home, there is a solid week where I try entering my house using my wrist instead of a key!

    To be able to use your MagicBands, you’ll need to link your resort stay and tickets to your My Disney Experience account. If you have not already set one up, head over to the Walt Disney World website and click on “My Disney Experience”. Once here, you will be able to follow the prompts to create an account. 

    To link your information, log on to your account and click on both “Resort Hotel” and “Park Tickets”. Each one will have a spot to enter your confirmation codes to link your reservations. Since you booked your stay through an alternative website, you probably received various confirmation codes during the booking process. You most likely received a confirmation email from this website with information for your resort stay and tickets. I recommend scanning through the emails and searching for Disney-specific confirmation codes to use on your My Disney Experience account. 

    If the codes are correct, your resort and tickets will populate in your account for you to view. At this point, your MagicBands should be ready to go for your upcoming stay. Make sure to have a valid credit card on file to be able to use for purchases. If the codes used did not link to your account properly, you may need to call the company you booked your stay through to retrieve the correct information. If you are still having trouble at this point, I would suggest calling the Walt Disney World Resort and speaking to a Cast Member for assistance.
