Ahoy, Debbie!
Welcome aboard planDisney! I’m thrilled to hear you’ll be
sailing on the Fantasy with your family—what a fantastic way to make memories that will last from here to “Infinity and Beyond!” That ship truly lives up to her name, with every detail designed to make your time onboard nothing short of magical.
It just so happens that your grandson and I are the same height, so I completely understand wanting to be sure he’ll have a
comfortable place to stretch out after a full day of adventures. For most Concierge staterooms, the sofa bed measures approximately 54 inches wide and 72 inches long. In non-Concierge staterooms, you’re looking at around 32 inches wide and 72 inches long.
Now, since we both know 72 inches only equals six feet, your grandson’s extra two inches might seem like a tight squeeze. I had the same thought, so I gave it a test run myself. I was able to fully extend between the armrests without much issue—though I’ll admit, there wasn’t a lot of extra room for my toes to “let it go.” The mattress itself is quite comfortable, but taller Guests (like us!) may find it coziest to sleep with slightly bent knees.
If he’d prefer a little more room, you might consider a 5-person stateroom, which includes a pull-down (Murphy-style) bed. These are the same length as the sofa beds but typically don’t have a footboard, giving just a bit of extra space for longer legs—especially if he tends to stretch out like Goofy after a day on
Goofy’s Sports Deck!
I hope this helps you rest easy knowing your grandson will have a comfy place to recharge before another day of magic at sea. No matter where he drifts off to dreamland, he’ll wake up
ready to explore, dine, and enjoy all the fun waiting on the Fantasy.
Sea ya real soon with boo-tiful nights and frightfully fun days,
Dustin
