Hi! I am booked on the Disney Fantasy in April 2012! As this is our first cruise, I am concerned about feeling claustrophobic-our rooms are on the 2nd level. Should I be concerned and look for something on a higher level? Any assistance/wisdom welcomed!

    Hi Kristin,

Welcome to the Moms Panel - and congratulations on booking the Fantasy!  I am really excited about the DCL fleet expansion, the new ships are sure to be magnificent!

This is a very valid concern, and I won't even try to gauge the level of claustrophobia you might feel - but I can tell you that decor and overall feel of the cabins are the same whether you are on the first level or the eighth.  It's also important to remember that as a first-time cruiser, there is a very good chance that you won't be spending much time in your cabin so location may become somewhat irrelevant.

What I would suggest is for you to hang on to your stateroom for now - but in 2011 start surfing the fan websites, such as DIS Boards, for reports on the stateroom locations on the Disney Dream.  The Dream will set sail in January, and the Fantasy is her sister ship so any room reports from the Dream could generally apply to the Fantasy.

    Good luck!
