Ahoy, Leah!
Welcome Home and thank you so much for sailing by planDisney with your question. As a
Disney Vacation Club Member for over 22 years, Membership has afforded our family many dream family vacations including sailings to the great wide somewhere. It's a wonderful way to see the line where the sky meets the sea, which calls me - often!
Leah, I just spoke with a
Disney Cruise Line Cast Member. While, typically, Stateroom upgrades are potentially possible at the Disney Ports when your cruise is paid for by cash - pending availability - the Disney Cruise Line Cast Member said it's a bit different when using your Disney Vacation Club Membership to convert DVC Points to Reservation Points to pay for your cruise. She noted that when Vacation Points are involved, the reservation is handled through Disney Vacation Club and they fully manage that booking. She noted it is not a reservation Disney Cruise Line can modify, and therefore unlikely that your Stateroom could be upgraded at the Port.
If you are interested in upgrading your Stateroom, I would suggest contacting
Member Services to see if they are able to do this for you. When you call Disney Vacation Club, select Member Services and then press number three to get an expertly trained Vacation Exchange advisor who would best be able to assist you with this.
Here's a tip for you, Leah. When you are welcomed aboard Disney Cruise Line, be sure to stop by the DVC Member desk as they often have special gifts and information for Members. Also, if you are an eligible Disney Vacation Club Member (Members eligible for Member Extras), you can receive
onboard Member discounts as well, which will help put a little extra magic back in your pocket!
I hope this information helps you, Leah. If you have any further Disney Vacation Club questions, sail back here to see me. I'll be so happy to help you!
Bon Voyage,
Keri
