Ahoy there, Michele, and welcome to planDisney! I see that there are a few rough seas affecting your plans, but I'm glad that you have another crewmate ready to hop aboard and fulfill their duties! I certainly hope the member of your crew who is unable to come is ok, and that they'll have an opportunity to sail again with you soon!
Now as far as changing your party goes, as long as your reservation doesn't include any staterooms with restrictions and was booked through Disney Cruise Line, I sailed on over and confirmed with a crew member that it should be possible to do so! I also confirmed that since your reservation is within 45 days, as of this writing, a $50.00 per person charge would apply. This is subject to change at any time though - so hopefully you can act quickly to change course! You should also know that all changes are subject to availability and final approval by Disney Cruise Line.
I also see you've tried to reach a crew member through chat and phone and have been unsuccessful thus far. With Disney Cruise Line's recent updates to the
Know Before You Go information and Guide to Updated Experiences, there has been an influx of interest in hitting the high seas, so I've experienced the same thing. Are you by any chance a Castaway Club member? If so, my best suggestion would be to log into your account on the Disney Cruise Line website to find the dedicated
Castaway Club Member phone number and see if you have any luck on that horizon. And it probably wouldn't hurt to
drop them a line by email as well to cover all your bases and hopefully get in touch!
I wish we'd met under better circumstances, Michele, and I also wish I had a magic wand to wave and wipe away your issue, but the best I can offer is a little faith, trust, and pixie dust in the hopes that the phone lines open up for you the next time you try! Thank you so much for your question, and if you are still having issues in the next few days, please drop me another line - I'll climb to the crow's nest and keep a weather eye for your message!
Here's to a change in the tides and favorable conditions for your next attempts!
Andrew
