I’ve booked a Disney cruise for 2027 What happens if one of the travellers has a baby after booking

Ahoy there, Josephine! Welcome to planDisney!

I’m happy to hear that you’ve booked a Disney cruise for 2027! There’s nothing quite like that “I’m going on a Disney cruise!” feeling, no matter the age of the guest! One of the best things about Disney Cruise Line is that from the oldest cruisers to the littlest, it's always a magical time with plenty to do on board!

Disney Cruise Line has guidelines in place regarding traveling with babies, and I’d be happy to share them with you.

First, if pregnant, guests may only sail if they are less than 24 weeks pregnant, or will not enter the 24th week during the cruise. This is for safety reasons, and exceptions cannot be made, even with a doctor's notice.

For most itineraries, babies may sail with Captain Mickey after reaching 6 months of age. For sailings to the South Pacific, Transatlantic, Hawaii, and Panama Canal repositioning cruises, the minimum age is one year old. Please remember to have the proper citizenship documentation for the baby, as this depends on the departure port and the itinerary.

Since you already have a reservation, you will need to add the baby's information to it. You can do this by calling Disney Cruise Line, and they will be happy to add them to the reservation. Their listed age will be the age they will be on the day you embark on your cruise.

What happens when you get on board? Disney Cruise Line has truly thought of everything when it comes to sailing with babies, including a secure nursery cutely titled “it’s a small world” nursery!, complimentary pureed food, bottle warmers, Pack 'n Plays, diaper genies, and so much more! You can request all of these complimentary items on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App before your cruise. The pureed food really impressed me back when I sailed with my babies, and I remember being pleasantly shocked that they had fresh food prepared just for them. The Disney treatment really does apply to every guest, even the tiniest ones!

Lastly, I'd like to share my absolute favorite part of sailing with babies on a Disney cruise: entering them in Jack-Jack's Diaper Dash! It's a race of crawling babies! No, that's not a typo. Disney Cruise Line actually does race human babies! Only crawling babies may enter, and it's usually offered at least once during your cruise, depending on the duration. However, please remember that offerings are always subject to change. The best way to make sure you don't miss this event on board is by checking the Daily Schedule of the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App. You can even "heart" it so that you won't forget, and the app will remind you. Whether you're watching the race or entering a baby, I highly recommend arriving 20 minutes earlier than the start time listed, because it's a very popular event! (Racing cawling babies; enough said.)

Josephine, I hope this helped offer clarification. I wish you many magical memories on board your Disney cruise in 2027! Please sail back to planDisney if you have any more questions.

    Bon Voyage,
    Rana
